Jason McKenzie: Discography
Atash -- Republic of Love - CD
This is a CD of which I'm very proud that I recorded with Atash. This is music that we composed together and I helped to arrange and produce. On the CD I play drumset, tabla, doumbek, djembe, kanjira, daf, riq, and other percussion. The track "Creation" was recently featured on a tv show called Veronica Mars.
Darin Layne--The Fisherman - CD
I am playing drumset on three tracks on this new release from one of Austin's most innovative jazz guitarists. Check out "Early Morning", "See Five" (which I co-wrote), and "Break Me" which is a crazy combo of Mahavishnu Orchestra-meets-Drum & Bass.
"Some Mad Hope" -- Matt Nathanson - CD
Besides playing world music and jazz, I also play drum set in more main-stream pop acts. This is a new major-label release that shows another side to my drumming.
Atash--Global Harmony (live)
During my three-year absence, Rob Hooper played drums with Atash. Luckily, I was able to make it to Austin for the Global Harmony concerts. I'm playing tabla, dumbek, and kanjira along-side Rob on on this wonderful compilation.
Back to the Garden--Tribute to Joni Mitchell - CD
I'm playing drum set and percussion on this part-live/part-studio recording by Will Taylor and Strings Attached.
Alexi Murdoch--"Time Without Consequence" - CD
My tabla playing is featured on the track "Home".
Strings Attached - CD
This is a compilation of the best of Austin singer/songwriters with the group Strings Attached. I play drum set, tabla, and other percussion on several tracks.
Woodwork: Viewfinder - CD
This is the band I played with in the late 90's.
